Bring Cheese to Your Easter Table
This Easter, indulge yourself in artisan cheeses becoming to springtime. From creamy bries to firmer blues, experiment at your table with gourmet cheeses perfect for celebrating the holiday.
For a cheese flavored to suit the aromas of Spring, try Oregon Gourmet's Sublimity. This French-style washed rind cheese comes in a variety of flavors including Herbs de Provence, a fresh combination of rosemary, sage, and lavendar.
Further south you'll find Cowgirl Creamery's Mt. Tam. A buttery triple-cream cheese, Mt. Tam pairs well with the fruits of the season such as melons, grapes, and strawberries.
Make sure not to overlook sheep's milk cheese this Easter like Bellwether Farm's San Andreas Sheep, a raw milk cheese that is mild, creamy and smooth. This semi-hard cheese pairs well with the sweet white wines and fruity reds you've been saving for warmer weather.
If you love blue, try Rogue Creamery's Oregonzola. A favorite at the Beecher's store, Oregonzola is a milder blue cheese with a creamy finish. Crumbled over a fresh spinach salad or just drizzled with honey and served alone, you'll get rave reviews on this cheese.
Finally, round out your Easter cheese platter with Beecher's own Honey Blank Slate. We've taken our fresh, farmer's cheese and sweetened it with local Washington honey. A terrific sweet fruit accompaniment, whip the Honey Blank Slate with whipping cream and serve over fresh fruit or dollop it directly on your favorite pie.
