American Cheese Society

Beecher's Handmade Cheese is a member of the 
American Cheese Society.

Founded in 1982, the American Cheese Society was created to uphold the highest standards of quality in the making of cheese, to uphold the traditions and preserve the history of American Cheesemaking, to be an educational resource for American cheesemakers and the public, and to encourage people to eat and enjoy cheese.

Washington State Cheesemakers Association

In May, 2005, Beecher's became a founding member of the Washington State Cheesemakers Association(WaSCA). The goal of this association is to create awareness of and support for Washington State Cheeses and Cheesemakers. Other members include:

Slow Food

Slow Food U.S.A. is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to supporting and celebrating the food traditions of North America. From the spice of Cajun cooking to the purity of the organic movement; from heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables to handcrafted cheeses; these foods are part of our cultural identity. They reflect generations of devotion to the processes that yield the greatest achievements in taste. These foods, and those that depend on them, are at risk of succumbing to the effects of the fast life, visible through the industrialization and standardization of our food supply and degradation of our farmland. By reviving the pleasures of the table, and using our tastebuds as our guides, Slow Food U.S.A. believes that our food heritage can be saved.

International Association of Culinary Professionals

The International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) is a not-for-profit professional association which provides continuing education and development for its members who are engaged in the areas of culinary education, communication, or in the preparation of food and drink. IACP’s vision is to be a worldwide forum for the lively development and exchange of information, knowledge, and inspiration within the professional food community.
